Executive Director

Rev. Brent Haggerty

Growing up as one of seven children in a small Maine border town, Brent learned early that "you need to get along to move along" in their crowded three-bedroom home during brutal -30°F winters. Life's extremes continued when he and Susan moved to Burkina Faso, West Africa—one of the world's poorest nations—where they slept under wet towels beneath ceiling fans to survive the heat with no air conditioning. Their decade there on a $1,249 missionary salary taught profound gratitude as they felt wealthy compared to sugarcane factory workers earning $1,000 annually. Returning to pastor Stonecrest Community Church, Brent led the congregation's growth from 55 to over 500 members across 24 years, serving on three continents and visiting 27 countries, learning that God's blessing flows wherever Christ's name is lifted up.

Then came devastating words from a Newark specialist: "This is your disease. It is yours for life. It is progressive. And medical science has nothing to slow it down or stop it." After 46 years of marriage, Brent faced a choice between pastoring the church or loving his bride as Christ loved the church—he chose love. Though they continue seeking healing through prayer and faith, believing in God's perfect timing whether on this side of heaven or beyond, Brent now serves Susan daily with transformed perspective: "I don't need to care for Susan's daily needs—I get to. As Christ has loved me, so I choose to give my most focused daily effort to loving Susan." Through extremes of cold and heat, poverty and growth, health and illness, his story reveals a man shaped by faithfulness to God, calling, and most beautifully, to the woman he promised to love in sickness and in health.

Founder

Charles Beyer

Founder of The Fish Foundations, bringing nearly three decades of diverse experience in entertainment and hospitality to his mission-driven work. His career began in his family's fire alarm installation business before taking him to Los Angeles, where he studied acting under renowned mentors including Gloria Gifford, Jeffrey Tambor, and the late Milton Katsellas.  A foundation in the performing arts taught him the importance of understanding the human spirit and connecting with others on a deeper level. He then transitioned into the corporate hospitality world, spending 28 years with major companies like Dave & Busters, Drive Shack, and Darden, where he specialized in opening new locations, building high-performing teams, and creating cultures of excellence.

Driven by a calling to serve a higher purpose, Charles now channels his extensive background in entertainment and operations toward bringing kids closer to Christ as well as combating homelessness and poverty through innovative approaches.  He is building an adventure park that serves as both a beacon of hope and a sustainable funding mechanism for charitable programs, while also bringing children closer to faith.  Happily married to his wife Elizabeth with two sons, Charles views his unconventional journey, from family business to Hollywood stages to corporate boardrooms, as divine preparation for his current mission. His vision combines profit with purpose, creating a space where fun and meaningful impact coexist, demonstrating that entertainment venues can be powerful vehicles for positive social change.
